The Easel Club was founded in 1879 in Birmingham UK by Edmund Watson who went sketching with David Cox and Vincent Barber. Other prominent founder members included Walter Langley RI. The Easel Club constitution restricts membership to just 25, membership is by Invitation and subsequently election.
